White Paper: “Prospects for the New and Used Truck Market 2017” in association with Shell
As part of the 2016 Dealer Awards, Commercial Motor, in association with Shell, set out to understand market for new and used commercial vehicle sales and aftermarket care in 2017 – taking into account the views of both sellers and buyers.
This resulted in the white paper “Prospects for the New and Used Truck Market 2017” – which takes into account predictions for market growth in 2017 by new and used truck dealerships and the demand for trucks by body type and weight categorisation. It also asks operators about their vehicle purchasing intentions in 2017, by vehicle type, weight and emission specification, as well as by financial product type.
For both dealerships and operators it also asks for views on how the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union will affect truck buying decisions, and what other economic or legislative areas will affect new and used truck purchases in 2017.
The findings in this report were generated by a survey of commercial vehicle dealerships and operators conducted in October 2016.
